Could not detect changes

If you are seeing a message that says ‘Could not detect any changes’ it simply means that Simul was unable to detect any changes in the document between the version you have selected and the previous version.

This is not necessarily a problem, it’s just informing you that nothing was changed in that version.

It’s worth noting that while Simul’s comparison algorithm will highlight changes made to text, images, graphs, etc it does not highlight formatting changes, so if the only thing that changes between Version 0.0.2 and 0.0.3 (for example) is that you change the font of a paragraph, it will not be highlighted in the comparison window in the Simul UI.

This is by design, as formatting changes don’t fundamentally change the document and highlighting them all would make it more difficult to see what meaningful changes were made between versions.
